The 1st INCREASE summer school (The distribution grid of tomorrow) is planned for July 2015 in Ghent, Belgium. The summer school aims at Phd students, post-doc scientists and experts from industries. The plan is to give the participants a better insight in the structure and operation of smart grids, the processes or the transition from traditional to smart grids, the issues related to the operation of smart grids and also in the problems concerning the integration of renewable energy sources and an overview of possible solutions.
A preliminary programme has already been set up:
- Day 1: The structure and operation of the distribution grid
- Day 2: Controlling the distribution grid of tomorrow and its components
- Day 3: Simulating the distribution grid of tomorrow
- Day 4: Market models and visit to Labo Lemcko @ Kortrijk

This summer school will be part of the Doctoral Schools Programme of Ghent University and is also supported by the Flemish government.
